Josey D. Denny

Josey D. Denny, 44, of Coatesville passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 1, 2019.  She was the wife of Richard J. Denny, with whom she celebrated 18 years of marriage.

She was the daughter of Cheryl and John New of Kansas.  She was a graduate of Hope High School class of 1992 and attended Kansas State University.  Born in Iowa, she lived in Texas and Kansas, growing up on farms. As a teen, she once saved her sister’s life from drowning.

In 1996, she moved to Pennsylvania and worked as a nanny prior to being a caregiver to a local disabled resident. 

She loved gardening, cooking, baking, decorating and most recently took up woodworking that she used to make gifts for many members of her family and friends. Josey had an unique ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.   

Surviving her, in addition to her husband Rick, are three daughters, Eve Amica (17), Jane Patricia (13) and Samantha Lynne (8); two sisters, Kathy Heimbrook and Aimee New.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Church, 404 Charles St., Coatesville.  Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects from 8 to 9 a.m., at the Harris Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesville.

Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery, West Brandywine.
