On Monday May 1, 2023, Angela K. Lutze at the age of 74, passed away suddenly at her home in York, PA. She was the loving daughter of the late Frank M. Lutze and Betty J. (Grove) Lutze formerly of Marietta, PA.
She graduated high school from St. Joseph Academy in Columbia, PA in 1966. She received her teaching degree from Seton Hill College in Greensburg, PA in 1970. Angie furthered her education and received her master’s degree from Millersville University. She attended workshops every summer to enrich her teaching abilities, to keep up with the times and bring that knowledge to her students.
Miss Lutze taught first and second grade at Conewago Elementary School for 35 years. After her retirement she spent many years volunteering in the reading enrichment program. She loved her students and they loved her. Many stayed in touch with her into their adulthood.
Angie was an active member of the PSEA and the NEA. At the time of her death, she was the president of her local Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by her sister, Dorrie DePedro wife of Greg of Parkesburg, her loving nephew, John DePedro husband of Tracy along with her great-nieces and great-nephews Payton, Anthony, Nicholas and Marisa who loved her so much. She was predeceased by her niece, Lisa DePedro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Avenue, Coatesville. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Private inurnment will be at St. Cecilia Cemetery, Coatesville.
