C. William "Bill" MacHenry died June 11, 2021 at the age of 89 in Malvern, PA.
Born on November 29, 1931 in Coatesville, PA to parents Lew W. MacHenry and Myrtle E. Unangst, he graduated from Scott Senior High School and would go on to work for GO Carlson, Inc. for 43 years until his retirement in 1997.
William took on a number of leadership positions throughout his life including: Noble Grand of Odd Fellows Coatesville, President of Coatesville Jaycees, President of the Coatesville Athletic Association, President of the Local International Management Council, National Vice President of the International Management Council, and President of the Brandywine Swim League. His time at IMC also resulted in being awarded the Outstanding Layman Award. When he wasn't supporting his community, William could be found on the golf course or at the Brandywine Fire Company, where he served as a Life Member. An avid sports fan, he played baseball in the City League, and coached Little League, Farm League, and the Babe Ruth League.
William is preceded by his wife, Gwendolyn MacHenry, his brother, Lew W. MacHenry Jr., and his son William C. MacHenry.
He is survived by his brother, Robert G. MacHenry, his sons, Thomas C. and John W. MacHenry; as well as his daughter-in-law, Bonnie MacHenry. William has four grandchildren, Sean MacHenry (Meagan), Eric Fitzgerald (Samantha), Craig MacHenry (Claire), and Emily Ottaggio (Lucas); and three great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, William, and Gwendolyn.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Hephzibah Cemetery, Coatesville.
