Charles K. Ambroziak, Sr., 92, of Coatesville died Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Newport Meadows, Christiana where he lived for one year and six months.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary.  At the time of her passing they were married for 68 years.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Anthony and Czeslawa (Sally) Gwardyak Ambroziak.

Charles served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952 with the 509th QM Petrol Depot Co.  He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.

After his military service, he was employed by Scully’s, Lukens, Sunoco Paper Products, Dopaco, and Coatesville Auto/Napa Auto Parts as a parts delivery person.

Charles was a member and devoted parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, Coatesville and the former St. Stanislaus Church.

His hobbies included bowling, belonging to two leagues; Holy Name League for St. Stanislaus Church and the Senior League at Ingleside Bowling Center and The Bowling Palace.  Playing different card games, miniature golf, Yahtzee, Super Mario Nintendo games, Seek and Find a word books, Bingo, drawing and painting, puzzles and putting Legos together.  He also enjoyed cooking, planting vegetables in his garden; and was known for his famous nut roll.  Charles enjoyed the sound of thunderstorms, singing, watching the Phillies and soccer; and taking things apart to then put what he took apart back together again.

Surviving him is a son, Charles Ambroziak, Jr.; two daughters, Marlene L. Ambroziak and Mary T. Stephens (Timothy); four grandchildren, Timothy and Ronald Ellis, Dina Ambroziak Britcher and Amanda Ambroziak Bush; four great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond E. Ambroziak.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Benjamin “Brownie”, Joseph, Thomas, James and Fred Ambroziak; a stepsister, Marcella DiGiovantonio, son-in-law, Ronald S. Ellis and grandson, Michael C. Ellis.

Relatives and friends may call from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville.

Funeral services will be private.  Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Coatesville.
