Charles “Chuck” Clifford Tooley, 64, born February 9, 1957, passed away at home on July 22, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Patrick Tooley and Priscilla Anne (Hales) Tooley.
He was the beloved husband of Lola Mae (Hoss) Tooley for 41 years. Chuck grew up in Montoursville, PA and graduated from Loyalsock High School. He graduated from Williamsport Area Community College with a degree in Journalism, where he received the President’s Award.
He began his career as a reporter for the Citizen’s Press in Williamsport. He was an Editor for Kane Communications, Philadelphia. Later, managing Fat Jack’s Comic Crypt, Philadelphia, and Legends, Plymouth Meeting. He wrote the dialogue for The Confessor comic books. He will be sadly missed.
Chuck was a gifted artist and talented writer. His creativity was expressed in his gardening and he designed water gardens for friends and family. He was a noted authority on World War II. He loved psychedelic music and was an avid Beatles fan. He loved his parents dearly. He was a gentle spirit, generous to strangers, helping when he could. Chuck loved nature and was an environmental enthusiast. His favorite parks were Ricketts Glen State Park and Hawk Mountain.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Caln Park, 200 Municipal Drive, Thorndale, on August 22, 2021 at Noon. Please dress casually.
