Michael “Mike” William Hepner, Sr., 82, long-term resident of both Honey Brook and Coatesville, PA, passed away on June 2, 2023.
He graduated from Bishop Shanahan High School in 1958. After high school, he served 4 years in the Marines and was stationed in San Diego and many locations throughout the Pacific. After his time in the military, he worked over 40 years as a steelworker before retiring.
Mike enjoyed hunting, archery and fishing. He played sports as well as weight-lifted many years at the YMCA. He was a Phillies, Eagles and Flyers fan. He enjoyed reading and travel. He visited numerous National Parks.
He was a wonderful husband, father and Pop Pop to his family. His grandchildren brought him much pride and happiness. He always had a story to tell them or a joke to share.
Michael is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia (Pelarcik) and five children: Michael W. Hepner Jr., of Honey Brook, Patrick Hepner of Mechanicsville, MD, James Hepner of Honey Brook, John Hepner and wife Talia of Lansdale, and Lynn Hepner Friel and husband James of Edgewater, FL; and 8 grandchildren: Amanda Hepner, Skylar Hepner, John Hepner, Jr., James Friel III, William Friel, Ella Hepner, Tessa Hepner and Eva Friel; a sister, Patricia Hall Honda and a brother, Charles Hepner and wife Rita. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jessie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Avenue, Coatesville where relatives and friends may visit with the family from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Coatesville.
