Norma “Jean” Heming-Tate, 70, of Honey Brook died Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Brandywine Hospital.
She was the wife of James (JD) Tate and was preceded in death by her first husband Harlen H. Heming in 2006 after 37 years of marriage.
Born in West Fairfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nora and William Hanlin Gordon.
Jean attended Laurel Valley High School. Jean faithfully attended church services at Lighthouse Assembly of God in New Holland, PA. She was employed as a Direct Support Professional at Devereux Adult Services Center for over 35 years, retiring in 2016. Jean took great pride in her work. Most of all, Jean enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her children; a daughter, Jackie (Mike) Townsley and sons, John and James Heming. Six grandchildren, Jessica (Gary), Michael, Matthew, Cody, Jerad (Dru) and Madison and three great grandchildren, Aiden, Parker and Carson. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Joan Gehring and brothers, William Gale Gordon, Robert Frances Gordon, Richard Gordon, Terry Lynn Gordon and Ronald Thomas Gordon. She was preceded in death by sisters, Karen Gordon and Doris Jane Shaftic and a brother, Michael Gordon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Harris Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, where relatives and friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
