Pamela Sciarretta Obituary

Pamela M. Sciarretta, born on June 12, 1949 passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Hickory House, Honey Brook.

She was the devoted daughter of the late Anthony and Violet Sciarretta

Pam attended St. Cecilia Elementary School, graduated from Scott High School in 1967,  received an AA degree from Harcum College in 1969 and a BA degree from Hofstra University in 1972.

Pam was active in music and theater throughout her school years. She set aside her dream and ambition for a career in theater to manage her family’s business, the Crescent Inn; a wonderful neighborhood Italian restaurant in Coatesville after her father’s unexpected passing.  From 1972 until 1987, Pam managed the Crescent Inn with her mother. After selling the restaurant, Pam worked as a bank teller for Downingtown National Bank; also working in retail for Strawbridge and Clothier and Boscov’s department stores in Exton.  Later, she was a receptionist at Heatherwood Retirement Community in Honey Brook.

Ever the dedicated and loyal daughter, Pam was her mother, Violet’s primary care giver during the last years of Violet’s life.

Throughout her life, Pam was passionate about theater and music, attending Broadway shows regularly. Pam was a classic movies, music and theater aficionado and historian. She knew more about the stories and lives of actors and musicians than most TV hosts and she would entertain us for hours with those stories.

Pam celebrated her Italian heritage and she particularly enjoyed preparing classic Italian meals for her family and friends, throughout her life.  She truly was happiest treating her cousins and friends to these unique and delicious meals.  They were her time to make us all happy. Pam was pretty much the family historian and she enjoyed and maintained close relationships with her cousins and friends.

Pam was also a loyal and passionate Eagles fan.  She also had a “thing” for Drew Brees and rooted particularly hard for him.

She was very active in the Chester County Democrat Committee and was a precinct worker and campaign volunteer for the Democrat Party and its many candidates.  She was particularly proud to have attended the Democrat National Convention in Philadelphia.
