Patricia Weller Obituary

Patricia Ann Weller, 72, of Coatesville, died Friday, March 26, 2021, peacefully at home with loved ones by her side.

She was the wife of Charles “Fred” Weller, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Elizabeth “Betty” Vietri.

Patty graduated in 1967 from Coatesville High School and continued her education at the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, Massachusetts.   Her professional career began at G.E. Aerospace where she had the fortunate appointment to a team preparing for the Apollo 11 mission. In the mid 1970’s, she started at Lukens Steel as an Administrative Assistant where she proudly showed her commitment to a company that employed 3 generations of her family. Her tireless work ethic, professionalism and poise earned her the position of Executive Assistant; and was respected by every President, Controller or General Manager that she worked alongside of during her 49 years of service.

Her devotion to the company, its employees and the Coatesville community were evident in the many years she worked with the United Way campaign and preparing for the steel plant’s 200th Anniversary celebration.

Patty was a remarkable cook and natural hostess who always welcomed family and friends to her home for what was certain to be a delicious, memorable meal.  Her Italian heritage was a tremendous source of pride to Patty and she was intent on keeping family traditions.  She particularly looked forward to Sunday dinners with family around the table, often sharing her cooking secrets with her greatest treasures – her grandchildren. In addition, Patty enjoyed reading, gardening and travel, especially to Hilton Head, where their family vacations created over 15 years of wonderful memories.

Surviving her, in addition to her husband, Fred, is a son, Michael Weller, husband of Julie; a brother, Gregory Vietri and his girlfriend, Karol Collins; niece Johni Lynn Bradney, wife of Steven; three grandchildren, Madeline, Darby and John Weller and great nephew, Quinn Bradney. She was preceded in death by her brother, John V. Vietri in 1975.
