Raymond “Ray” F. Waechter, 74, of Downingtown, died in the company of family at his home on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.
Born on October 22, 1946 in Bridgeton, NJ, he was the son of the late Frank R. Waechter and Mary (nee Colona) Waechter. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth “Betsy” (nee Buikema) Waechter and his two children: Jessica (Brian) Wabler of Cincinnati, OH; and Kirk (Lexi) Waechter of Collingswood, NJ. He has three grandchildren: Matthew Wabler, Annalise Wabler, and Kyle Waechter. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Walker, and his brothers Dennis (Lisa) Waechter, Timothy Waechter, and James (Stacey) Waechter as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ray was a proud graduate of Bridgeton High School, Class of 1964. He earned a degree from the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology. He loved fishing and spending time on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He was a member of the Brandywine Goddard Lodge #383 F&AM, a trustee of the Coatesville Royal Arch Chapter #267, a member of Centennial Commandery #55, and Goodwin Council #19.
Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the Harris Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Masonic services will follow.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Ave., Coatesville.
It is kindly requested that all guests wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
