Richard B. Carr

Richard B. Carr, 75, of Coatesville died Saturday, March 11, 2023.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Harold Carr and Doris Eckert Valenti.

He was the husband of Ruth A. Kline Carr with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Rick served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Upon completion of his military service, he was employed in the repair department of Sears in Coatesville.  He then owned and operated an appliance repair service, RC Appliance of Coatesville.

He enjoyed working on the restoration and tinkering with his 1947 Oldsmobile.  Boating and jet skiing at Raystown Lake was done as much as possible during the summer months.

Surviving him in addition to his wife Ruth is a son, Gregory Carr (Stephanie); two granddaughters, Kacie and Mia Carr; and a half-brother, Robin Valenti.

He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Carr; an infant daughter, Stacy and his sister, Vera Van Swearingen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville where relatives and friends may visit with the family from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
