Sandra Louise Milberg passed away peacefully on April 19, 2021 at the age of 78 in her Aventura, Fla. home with her husband, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter by her side.
Sandra was born in Coatesville, Pa. on August 18, 1942. After graduating from Coatesville High, she moved to New York City at the age of 18 to pursue a college degree in Fashion Merchandising. At 19, she met the love of her life Barry in the city, and at 20, Sandra wed her beloved on October 27, 1962. They married and celebrated their union in her hometown of Coatesville, where the two eventually moved home to raise their children.
Sandra was the president of Beth Israel’s Hadassah/Sisterhood, she loved to cook, volunteer, spend time with her grandchildren, and of course, was the self-proclaimed best shopper (her granddaughter, Samantha could attest to this title). Sandy was the Chanel of grandmas: she was classy and fabulous, always dressed in black and white with her hair and make-up done to perfection. In her younger days, Sandra adored her time in the Poconos skiing and boating on the lake with her children and grandchildren.
Sandy now rests with her mother Hilda Strauss, her brother Fred Strauss, and her beloved daughter Beverly Milberg. She is lovingly survived by her husband Barry, her children Helaine and Fred, David and Nancy; her grandchildren, Jake, Dani, Kody, Samantha and Lee; and her soon-to-be great grand baby; her brother and sister-in-law Alan and Rita and all of her wonderful nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Hadassah in her honor.
